15K Plus Projects Registered with MahaRERA
More than 15 thousand projects were registered with MahaRERA within a short span of time, thanks to the joint efforts of CREDAI Maharashtra and MahaRERA. CREDAI Maharashtra created awareness about ‘MahaRERA’ Act before and after it was enacted, said ‘Maharera’ chief Gautam Chatterjee while crediting the builders’ body for MahaRERA registration.
Chatterjee was speaking at the two day leadership summit organized by CREDAI Maharashtra which was inaugurated at the hands of Director of Urban Development Department N. R. Shende. CREDAI National President Satish Magar, CREDAI Maharashtra President Shantilal Kataria, CREDAI Maharashtra’s founder and former President Ramkumar Rath and more than 200 members from over 50 cities in the state were present on the occasion.
Chatterjee said that, rules are not being fulfilled in case of some registered projects. Although such developers are notified through emails, CREDAI should also make them aware. MahaRERA will extend all assistance in this regard. The mutual trust between the customer and the developers has eroded due to some unscrupulous elements. The real estate sector will develop only when that trust is restored. In this process, the role of the MahaRERA is also important, he added.
On this occasion, Shende said that Urban Development Department was in the process of bringing a uniform process all over the state. Apart from this we are trying to make the whole process online so that developers and ultimately citizens get the benefit of it. We are in the process of preparing a development plan for the next 10 to 20 years for the newly formed Municipal Councils and the Nagar Panchayat. However, we expect active participation of CREDAI in all these activities. He hoped that this would bring exchange of ideas and solve the problem. Shende also suggested to the office bearers of CREDAI to organize meeting with the Urban Development Department in a month or three months.
On the concluding day, Jaxay Shah, National President CREDAI stressed on to work together with a goal of “sabka saath sabka vikas & sabko nivaas” (housing for all) and contribute to the bright future of the country.
Maharashtra is the first state with more than 50 cities having separate branches of CREDAI. Many of the states in Maharashtra have done excellent work at the national level of CREDAI, the state is at the forefront in effectively implementing MahaRERA informed Shantilal Kataria.
CREDAI National Chairman Geetambar Anand and Secretary Rohit Raj Modi pointed out that Maharashtra is birthplace and workplace of CREDAI which has been instrumental in starting many important decisions and schemes from Maharashtra. CREDAI National VP Boman Irani, Credai Maharashtra’s VP Rajiv Parikh, Maharashtra Anand Rajegaonkar also spoke on the occasion.
